Who We Are

Discover Georgia

Georgia carries a mood that feels older than its streets and fresher than its air. In Tbilisi, brick bath domes, carved balconies, hillside churches, and café-lined lanes sit within sight of sharp mountain horizons. Beyond the capital, the country keeps unfolding through vineyards, monasteries, canyon water, and highland roads that give the journey its own rhythm.

That sense of depth comes from a culture shaped by faith, trade, language, and endurance. Georgia stood on the route of the Great Silk Road, and its position between Europe and Asia left marks in architecture, food, and daily life. Christianity became central early in the country’s story, and places like Mtskheta still carry that spiritual weight, while the Georgian alphabet and traditional qvevri winemaking remain powerful expressions of identity today.

A visit here feels rich because the signature experiences are so clearly rooted in place. You can wander Old Tbilisi and soak in Abanotubani’s sulfur baths, stand below the ancient walls of Narikala, drive north to Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbegi behind it, follow wine routes through Kakheti, or continue west toward Batumi’s Black Sea promenade and the canyons and caves near Kutaisi. In winter, Gudauri draws skiers and snowboarders, while the warmer months are especially rewarding for mountain scenery, road trips, and long outdoor days.

Georgian Culinary

Food in Georgia is not separate from culture. It is one of the clearest ways the country introduces itself. Khachapuri arrives warm and comforting, khinkali is eaten with a bit of care and ritual, and dishes built on herbs, walnuts, cheese, grilled meat, and seasonal vegetables reflect both landscape and household tradition. Wine matters here not only for taste but for history, especially in Kakheti, where qvevri winemaking carries centuries of continuity. A Georgian table, and especially a supra, reveals hospitality as something practiced, not simply described.

Basics About Georgia

Georgia’s currency is the Georgian Lari, the official language is Georgian, and Russian is still widely understood among many older residents, while English is generally workable in Tbilisi, Batumi, hotels, restaurants, banks, and other visitor-facing settings, especially with younger people. The capital is Tbilisi, and the country runs on UTC+4.

Georgian Sky & Details to Consider

Climate varies by region, but for most travellers spring from April to early June and autumn from September to late November are the easiest and most comfortable seasons for city walks, culture, wine country, and scenic drives, with mild to warm weather and occasional wind or rain. Summer suits mountain escapes and the Black Sea coast, while winter is best for ski trips, especially in Gudauri, where the season usually runs from December to mid-April. Pack comfortable walking shoes, layers, and a light rain jacket for spring or autumn; in summer, breathable clothes help in the cities, but mountain mornings and evenings can still feel cool. Compared with Qatar, even a sunny day in Georgia can turn noticeably cooler once you head into higher elevations. Tbilisi is easy to move around by metro, bus, taxi, and ride apps, while trains work well between major urban centres such as Tbilisi, Kutaisi, and Batumi.
